Back in stone age people used ASCII art because early printers often lacked graphics ability and thus characters were used in place of graphic marks. Later on people used it to text their girlfriends with tiny 10 digit mobile phone screens. These days I use it to waste time and ruin my eyesight for no meaningful reason.
